The mission was finally over and you were on your way home to your boys. It had been a week without Griffin and Grant, and you just wanted to pour yourself into bed with them and not come up for air for a few days. You stared at your phone, waiting for a response from either of them to your text that you were on your way back. Nothing
"You two better have a good excuse for ignoring my texts." You called into the dark suite, dropping your bag on the kitchen counter. Glass crunched under your boot. You reached over and flipped the light switch up, but the lights didn't turn on. "What...?" You murmured, looking around, squinting in the dark. "Grant? Griff?" You called for your boyfriends. No answer.
More glass crunched under your boots as you walked deeper into the suite. Shapes of overturned furniture came into view as your eyes adjusted to the darkness. "Grant!" You shouted, panic taking hold. "Griffin!" Then you tripped over something soft. It was Grant... eyes wide open, staring blankly at the ceiling. "Oh, god." You sobbed when it was very evident that he was gone. "Griffin!" You shrieked, climbing to your feet to find Griffin. He was also clearly gone when you found him in a crimson puddle in the bedroom.
"No, no, no, no, no." You sobbed, your hands shaking as you turned him over. "Now, now, pet. No need for tears." Marek soothed, stepping out of the shadows. It was like a bucket of ice had been poured over you. You knew this was his doing. "What have you done?!" You screamed at him, tears streaming down your cheeks. "You're f-cking welcome, Adaline." Marek sneered, looking almost offended that you weren't appreciative. "They weren't enough for you. No one is-except me." He continued.
"You're f-cking insane!" You yelled, gripping Griffin's body tightly. "Oh, yes." Marek smiled maliciously, advancing on you as you knelt over Griffin as though you could still protect him. "Don't worry, darling. I would never hurt you." Marek assured you as he grabbed you and dragged you to your feet.
