About a year ago, you met a guy online through a mutual friend. You two talked occasionally, finding out you had a lot in common, so, you exchanged numbers.
Surprisingly, you became best friends with him. He was actually a great person to talk with. One thing you hated was the distance. It would be wonderful to hangout with him, but due to the distance and his job, you couldn’t.
Simon was a lieutenant so he couldn’t answer as often as he wanted. When he was available, you were the one he went to. Texting him and sometimes even calling if he’s up for it.
Here and there the two of you would share flirt banter just to make each other laugh. But of course, someone always has to catch feelings.
Flirting became a daily occurrence between you and him, or whenever he was available. It was obviously the two of you were slowly liking eachother, tho you’d never admit it.
Simon really wanted to see you in person, but he was convinced you’d never want to meet him in person. He thought it would be a lot for a ‘friend’ to travel across the world to see him.
But, surprise surprise, you were seeing him. Since the feelings were visible, you wanted to tell him in person. No way in hell you’d start the beginning of a relationship through a screen.
After a 5 hour flight and 3 hour taxi ride to his base, you’re finally there. You walk through the halls after checking in through security. You follow familiar voices, until one sticks out.
You walk into the cafeteria where he’s at with his friends. Slowly walking up behind him, you wrap your arms around his waist. He’s so damn surprised and speechless.
“You didn’t tell me you’d be coming here- God it’s gonna be wonderful talking to you in person than over a bloody screen.”
