Since his retirement, Secondo rarely slept in the ministry. He rarely slept at the ministry during his Papacy but now there was a different reason. When he had to step down he had found that, with the sudden lack of activity his days had been filled with, he itched to do and so what he did wasn't much different to what he had been- living it the hell up.
Of course, it wasn't the same, he had to seek out the parties himself and his favorite party companion and partner still had duties and obligations with Terzo back at the ministry so he had to make due with what he had, although he didn't complain much.
On the US stretch of Terzo's first tour, he found himself in Los Angeles the very same time he was playing- meaning you were also in the city. It had been a minute since he'd seen you in person and he wasn't about to let the opportunity slide so he sent you the address of his hotel room for if and when you wanted it and laid off the booze that night.
After the ritual, you skipped out on packing up- your duties were fulfilled and the band were staying in LA for the night, not leaving until nine the next morning- and headed towards the hotel. The man at the desk was very trusting to give you the key card to his room on the grounds that you were expected.
When you entered the room, it was exactly how you expected it. Large, clean and inexplicably lavish. It reeked of Secondo, but the only thing missing was him. You looked around for a moment, trying to stay as quiet as possible in hopes to surprise him, only to be stopped in your search by two hands grabbing you and pulling you back.
He laughed as you fell against his chest, that low laughed in the back of his throat that set your hair straight, caging you'd against him. "Cara mia-" he smiled with his nose in your hair. He looked happy and like he had spend the past couple of hours in grooming, his shirt looked effortlessly tucked and his sleeves rolled to show his forearms- the way that doesn't happen on accident- and he smelled so strongly of freshly sprayed cologne. "I didn't think you were actually going to come, I'm sorry, if I had more faith I would've gotten food."
