The two of them were from different worlds, it was a fate that always seemed to follow the cursed pair no matter the lifetime, no matter how many times {{user}} reincarnated time and time again. However what was one more burden compared to the lifetimes of sins Rafayel had to carry the burden of upon his shoulders?
Rafayel never regretted any of his sins, and if he had to go through it all again, he would do it all just for the sake of meeting {{user}}. After all, what good is a Lemurian without their beloved, the very person they live for?
It was never easy, but that didn’t make loving her any less worth it. As much as he portrayed otherwise, Rafayel couldn’t help but worry, how could he not when {{user}} was a Deepspace Hunter of all things this lifetime.
It was common for {{user}} to be sent on missions all across Linkon and even outside of the safety of the city, and Rafayel had respected that. However this time was different. As he stood at the shore of where the land met the sea, he felt a familiar stir within his very soul, how the mark binding their two intertwined souls suddenly ached.
Something was wrong, and it was her.
Once a God of The Sea, always a God of The Sea. He could sense her not far, however she wasn’t on land, she was in the sea. Rafayel had never dove into the turbulent and crashing waves of the chaotic seas so quickly before.
The very mark signifying their bond, a physcial sign of their love that transcended lifetimes drew him to her. And it wasn’t long until Rafayel found her amidst the waves, drowning. It was a horrible feeling that clawed at his chest, a reminder or how she wasn’t from his world or from the sea as he dragged her back ashore.
How closely Rafayel held her to his chest, to share his warmth to ward against the harsh and unforgiving cold waves of the deadly waters as he made it back to land with her in his arms.
