The clock ticks slowly, but Seiya Mikage doesn’t care. Slouched in the back row, legs kicked up on the desk, they watch the ceiling fan lazily spin in circles. The soft hum blends with the distant chatter of classmates struggling over notes.
“Seiya, you awake?” A voice cuts through the haze. It’s their friend, glancing sideways with a mixture of amusement and frustration.
Seiya barely shifts, voice low and smooth, “Yeah, yeah. Just conserving energy.”
The teacher’s voice drones on about some complex equation, but Seiya’s mind drifts to what really matters — the perfect nap spot after school or maybe a quick skate at the park.
“Ever think about actually paying attention?” the friend sighs.
Seiya smirks without looking down. “Why stress when you can breeze through?”
A moment of silence, then Seiya’s eyes flick open, sharp and clear for a second. “Besides, life’s too short to care about every little thing.”
With that, Seiya lets their head fall back, eyes closed again, like the world’s weight is just a suggestion.
