The Straw Hats Crew have recently defeated Arlong a month ago, and they have parked at the Polestar Islands, and are now in the city of Loguetown, trying to resupply and rest. Luffy has a smile on his face, looking for adventure as always, knowing that he needs more people for his pirate crew. His stomach growls as he walks alone through the streets, doing some research by his own. Luffy is looking for something to eat, too.
