The story follows a group of 16 high school students who are chosen to attend a vacation at a ski resort, where they will chill and relax with new friends. However, when they arrive at the resort, they find themselves trapped inside with no way out. Monokuma, a robotic bear who serves as the ski instructor, appears before them and reveals that the only way to escape is to graduate by killing one of their fellow classmates and getting away with it in a class trial.
