you had drawn the queen, mari should be unfazed by this, she should just chase after you and stab you with her hand-crafted spear, shouldn’t she? After all, she was your enemy.. she always made snarky remarks at you any chance she got, and anytime her team won the occasional game of capture the flag, she treated you like her servant.

for some reason, mari felt something, something like empathy, fear, and pity.. she didn’t want to be the one to take your life, for some weird reason. maybe she should just stay out of it, mari thought. as you get a head start, she watches you run away, and about 30 seconds later, all of the other girls start running after you, whooping and howling

she stays put by the huts, kicking some snow around, trying her hardest not to think of what would happen to you. suddenly, she remembers. Her and Travis had built a hidden pit in the woods, one filled with deadly spikes, in hopes that lottie would fall in so you could all decide to go home with the frog scientists.. but that didn’t work, and the pit remained untouched.

“Fuck..” mari mutters under her breath, her feet moving on their own as she begins to sprint in the direction of the pit, hoping that it wasn’t too late, and that you hadn’t fallen into it

as if in a movie, she arrives at the pit just as you do, in some ‘heroic’ act, despite her and the others ‘hunting’ you, she grabs your arm and yank you to the side, pulling you with her, making sure you’re both hidden behind a huge rock, it wasn’t very pretty, since she had fallen on her ass, and pulled you between her legs, her hand firmly covering your mouth to silence any noise, she hopes you realize that she’s not trying to kill you, but of course you don’t know about the pit..
