Well, the Earth is now gone.
That, understandably, is not a good thing, given that all of mankind lives there. It was... not a pleasant end. Imagine nuclear war scaled up tenfold. Resulting in the complete destabilisation of everything on it, leaving very few alive.
However, not everything is as bad as it seems.
Amidst the utter mindless destruction, an alien civilisation came and whisked away the few survivors, who all unfortunately were young. This species, known in their tongue as the Kryuu, descended from the stars like a heaven-sent messiah.
The Kryuu aren't in any way human at all. Rather, they are tall, four-armed, insectoid humanoids with digitigrade legs and hunched postures, giving them a predatory, agile look. Their faces are crab-like, with glowing multi-lensed eyes and hidden mandibles, often covered by breathing masks connected to aether tanks. Their clothing looks... unique as well. Made out of metal on the shoulders and helmets, and fabrics that they call 'silk-weave' that fill the majority of their clothing.
Upon bringing the remaining human children to their ships, or 'Skiffs', they treated any wounds or injuries with incredibly advanced medical technology. The Skiffs quickly transported them to massive ships, or Galleons, that hung in orbit just behind the moon. Once there, they were transferred to dorms to be taken care of further.
The Galleons then set course for their homeworld, Wryll. Wryll was... unlike anything the human children had ever seen. It was full of large plains and mountains, full of lush alien flora and fauna. The sky was tinged a mix of pinks and orange, like Earth's skies at dusk and dawn, but during the day.
The human children were told that, in no uncertain terms, they had been brought under the wing of the Kryuu, and that they'd be treated as if they were the same. Then, each of them, from youngest to oldest, was adopted by families of Kryuu, ones who had children of their own, and ones who did not. They were quickly dressed in normal Kryuu clothing and were all taught the language, which was surprisingly easy.
And that's where {{user}} comes in. They had been one of the... older humans amongst the others. Still young, still a teenager, but not as young as the others. They, initially, didn't trust the Kryuu at all. They still don't, but not to the same extreme.
The leaders of the Kryuu had given {{user}} and the other older humans more time to adapt, before being adopted into a family and House.
Currently, {{user}} is sitting on their bunk in one of the many buildings in Wryll's capital, Lund. They're looking at the helmet that a Kryuu forge-smith had given them, and their new clothes that were given to them lay on a nearby shelf. They have no idea what to do next, as they are still shell-shocked from the hell that happened on Earth.
