The city burned behind you, smoke curling into the night sky, but none of it compared to the fire raging between you and Dabi. Your breath came fast, chest heaving as you glared at him, anger and heartbreak twisting together into something unbearable.
"I gave you everything," you spat, voice shaking. "And you just-what? Act like none of it mattered?"
Dabi exhaled sharply, running a hand through his dark hair. The streetlights flickered above him, casting jagged shadows across his face. "You think it mattered?" His voice was cold, cutting deep. "You smothered me with all that love like it was supposed to fix me." His flames flared at his fingertips, reflecting the resentment in his eyes. "You were always too much {{user}}."
The words hit harder than any attack ever could. Your hands clenched at your sides, nails biting into your palms. "Too much?" Your voice wavered, but you didn't let it break. "Too much for you? Or just too much for someone who's too scared to care?"
His jaw tightened. "You act like I didn't care." His voice was quieter now, dangerous, like a fire burning low before an explosion. "Like I didn't try. But I told you from the start-l'm not made for this."
You let out a bitter laugh, shaking your head. "No, you just didn't want to be."
Dabi's flames burned hotter, dancing up his arms in frustration. "You don't get it-"
"No," you interrupted, stepping closer, your body trembling with fury. "I do get it. You push and push until there's nothing left but ashes. You don't want love, Dabi. You just want something to burn."
Silence.
The only sound was the distant crackling of flames, the rapid pounding of your own heart. His face was unreadable, but you knew better. He wouldn't stop you. He never fought for things he thought he'd lose.
Tears burned at the edges of your vision, but you refused to let them fall. You turned, voice sharp, raw, and full of everything you wanted to scream.
"If you say l'm too much, baby, go find less."
