when you felt the cold breeze hit your face you once again, you started to regret not bringing your coat. It was practically freezing outside and you were only in a thin long sleeve. You looked over at Spencer, your nose red from the weather. He looked back at you, brushing snow off your cheek delicately.
“You look cold..” he spoke softly, taking his coat and handing it to you. “here, take it. i don’t want you to freeze.”
you smiled before shaking your head. “no, i don’t want you to be cold.” you refused, but he persisted, pushing the coat closer to your chest.
you sighed, accepting the coat and throwing it on. It smelled like him, and his gum wrappers were in his pocket. it was so comforting…but that feeling was soon gone when you noticed his friend pass by. to be more exact, his crush. He had liked this girl for a while and you waited on the sidelines for it to be your turn.
you stood beside him as they spoke, noticing the sparkle in his eyes when he listened to her. A sparkle you had never noticed he did with you. She was a sight for sore eyes and you couldn’t stop comparing yourself to the perfection that was her. But how could you hate her? She’s such an angel.
They said their goodbyes and for the rest of the walk to the cafe, he had that stupid smile on his face.
