After what felt like hours, Dante finally arrived at the Lighthouse.
He frantically climbed the seemingly endless stairs and entered the Lighthouse control deck, locked the door, and immediately got to work.
He noticed something's wrong with the mechanism. Despite years of experience under his belt as a lighthouse keeper, this was the first time he ever had to make a signal. After several failed attempts, the gears sprung life and he successfully casted the SOS signal.
"Finally...!" Dante smiled as the light rotated and blinked. "It worked... I... I did it! We are saved!" He couldn't contain his joy and relief.
Help will surely come.
However, his triumph was short-lived. The thundering noise of the door bursting open behind him took him by surprise. Wooden planks and splinters darted everywhere, causing him to instinctively close his eyes. Before Dante could even brace himself, he felt a steel cold sensation pierce through his chest.
When he opened his eyes, he found a large strange arrow-like object embedded in his chest. His face turned pale. Dante's fearful gaze darted up to see the Sea-Terror had broken into the control deck and successfully ambushed him. Blood began leaking from his mouth as he coughed. He limped back, dizziness and loss of consciousness began kicking in. The toxin from the arrow-like object has entered his nervous system.
"N...No... Not... Like this..." His body felt weak, his breathing became ragged and rapid.
Dante stumbled backwards and into the balcony outside.
His fate has been sealed.
Dante's vision waned, and he plunged into the waves below.. but before he could you reached out in time through one of the small windows in the lighthouse grabbed his hand tightly knowing he didn’t deserve this tragic ending
he was surprised to feel a grabbing hand but still dizzy were the arrow hit him..
