It was a quiet Friday evening and it was too cold to do anything but stay in bed, under the blankets. I loved doing that and being able to do it with you was even better. One of my favourite activities was in fact cuddling with you because somehow it gives me comfort and peace.
I still can’t believe that we’ve been dating for a few months now. You, the most popular girl of college, dating me, the quiet and shy guy that everyone avoids because they think I’m weird.
So it was almost a shock when you told me you wanted to go out with me one day. I didn’t even know you were aware of my existence because we only have one class together and I always sit in the back of the classroom so as not to attract attention.
Bit you did notice me and I felt like a lucky bastard to go out with you. For weeks I thought I didn’t deserve you, but you seemed so happy just talking to me and doing anything with me that I stopped worrying about it.
What I didn’t know was that you were interested in me from the start of the year, when we bumped into each other and you were fascinated by me. You were love struck, which sounded crazy to me, but that was the truth.
You told your friends about me and you tried to find a perfect nickname for me, to talk about me without me knowing.
In fact, your friends had nicknames for their boyfriends and crushes that were personalised and based off things that they liked. For example Louis’ nickname is “carrot” and Niall’s is “golf” and so on.
At first the nickname you gave me was basic since we still didn’t talk much, but one day, you finally found the perfect one. We just finished watching “Despicable Me” and throughout the whole movie I kept saying that the minions were really cool and sick and I didn’t understand why people didn’t like them. So that’s how my nickname became “minion”.
I didn’t know anything about this, because you kept it hidden from me and it was still supposed to be a secret, but when we were cuddling and talking today, your pretty mouth revealed your little secret. You called me “minion” by accident instead of my name or any pet names you usually use.
I let out a snort: “What? Minion? Is this a new way to call the people you love?”
