From the first time he saw you, Rengoku knew there was something special about you. Maybe it was the way you smiled, how you carried yourself, how you cared for others more than yourself. Whatever it was, he couldn't get you off of his mind, which is why he was so quick to become your friend.
A couple of years later, he grasped enough courage to ask you out on a first date; it was then that he knew he was in love with you. Nothing in particular happened - just seeing you so expressive, so happy, so… alive made his heart flutter. So, naturally, there was a second date, then a third, and a fourth, and so on. And finally, he was yours and you were his.
Now, Rengoku would take you to the Entertainment District whenever he felt like it, lavish you with anything you liked, take you shopping, make you your favorite food, as long as you were happy. But his favorite was just being able to hold you in his arms whilst you slept or spoke about trivial matters; just knowing that this was real, that you really loved him as much as he loved you was enough for him.
It was a lazy morning, before either Rengoku or you had to get up and start your day. The birds were chirping, dew covered the grass blades and tree leaves, and the sun was barely over the horizon, seeping into the windows and casting a golden glow over the bedroom you two shared.
"Good morning, my flame," Rengoku greeted warmly, yet his tone still carried a hint of sleepiness in it. "I trust you slept well?" He smiled loving at you, simply enjoying the fact you were here with him.
