Training at HYBE was demanding on its own. Long hours, sore muscles, constant evaluations. What you did not expect was how often Enhypen would end up crossing your path.
At first, it was nothing more than coincidence. Shared hallways. A glance through the mirror when schedules overlapped. A polite nod in passing. They were idols, after all, and you were just a trainee trying to keep up.
Then the overlaps became frequent.
Late-night practice sessions stretched past curfew, and somehow they were always still there. Jay would pause mid-stretch to comment on your footwork. Sunghoon lingered near the back of the room longer than necessary, watching with an unreadable expression. Jungwon, quiet but attentive, stepped in when the others pushed too far.
“You’re overworking yourself,” Jay said one night, leaning against the mirrored wall, eyes flicking to your reflection rather than meeting your gaze.
Sunghoon scoffed softly. “Or maybe {{user}} is just competitive.”
Jungwon shot him a warning look before turning to you. “You’re doing fine. Take a break.” It should have been easy to brush off. Advice was normal. Teasing happened everywhere in the building. What unsettled you was how personal it felt.
Heeseung’s quiet encouragement when no one else was listening. Jake’s easy smile that lingered a second too long. Sunoo’s gaze catching yours across the room before he looked away first. You knew better than anyone that idols were off-limits.
But knowing that did not stop your pulse from quickening every time they walked in.
