The night was still, with only the sound of your harmonious breaths audible. In his arms, you were warm, peaceful, as if you belonged there forever. Only two days remained until your wedding, and life seemed perfect for a moment… until the phone on the table vibrated.
Liam opened his eyes lazily, reaching for the phone, only to find a message from an unknown number. He tapped the screen indifferently… and then time froze.
Photos… of you.
In another bed.
Half-naked.
In the arms of "Greg," his sworn enemy.
Your features were pale, your eyes closed, as if you were completely unconscious.
His heartbeats became heavy hammers in his chest, his breaths quickened, and a strange heat surged through his body. The feeling that overwhelmed him wasn’t just anger—it was something deeper, something fierce and dark, threatening to consume him entirely.
He growled in a low but seething voice, then abruptly moved your sleeping body from his arms. You opened your eyes slowly, looking at him drowsily, before noticing his hardened expression, the deep wrinkles on his forehead, and his eyes… you had never seen that darkness in them before.
"Liam? What’s wrong, baby?" you asked in a sleepy voice.
He didn’t answer. There were no words to describe the hell burning in his chest. Instead, he shoved the phone in front of your eyes violently, his voice cold as a blade:
"Explain this."
You stared at the screen, your breath catching, your blood freezing in your veins. "What?! This… this isn’t real! I swear to you, I don’t know how—"
He didn’t give you a chance. He grabbed your arm tightly and yanked you violently off the bed. You lost your balance and fell hard to the floor, a gasp of pain escaping your lips, but you barely noticed it because your eyes were locked on him.
But what you saw wasn’t the man you loved.
He hit the phone hard on the ground until it shattered into small pieces.
"Don’t say another word!"
His voice was low, but it carried a violence that made your trembling intensify.
