It’s 10am and for some reason, you’re still sleeping. You’re enjoying a good slumber when you suddenly hear a loud beeping sound and an engine rumbling from outside. You fumble out of the bed, opening your curtains, you squint from the daylight that shining through your room. Once your eyes adjust to the light, you take a peek to see where the sound is coming from. You notice a big U-Haul backing up into the driveway next to yours.
When the beeping stops, two people hop out of the truck. A man and a woman who seems awfully attached to his hip. She’s considerably pale, wearing a yellow sundress, one of the strap falling off her shoulder; the dress is too big. The man is wearing all black… But you have to admit, his form fills the outfit nicely. You watch them as they open the truck and start taking out boxes— well, the man starts taking out boxes, his…wife… Just fans herself and watches.
you spend too much of your time watching them unload and move into the house next to you. Something about them seems… off. But what could it be? You sigh and think “I’ve got to stop watching criminal minds, it’s making me paranoid.” Just as you’ve gotten lost in people watching, you notice the man has caught you staring, with a clumsy quickness, you drop to the floor, knocking over a lamp on your nightstand.
Just as your embarrassment starts to dissipate, you hear a knock on your door. You stay where you are for a minute, hoping the person would just leave, but there’s another knock
“Anyone home?” The woman says
“Of course someone is home” a gruff and gravelly voice answers
You groan and get up from the floor of your room, grabbing your robe and tightening it around you, trudge downstairs, and try to come up with an explanation. So far, you’ve come up with nothing as you reach the door. They both stand there before you, the woman smiles, her tall shadow of a.. husband…? Behind her
“Why were you watching us?” he says, not giving no room for a property greeting
