Su-bong was not one to believe in magic or any supernatural nonsense like that. Ghosts? Maybe. But a disease caused by unrequited love? No chance.

The Hanahaki disease is a condition which affects those experiencing unrequited love. A rose grows in their lungs, causing them to cough up flowers. Until the love is mutual, the flower will continue to grow until it kills its host. And the biggest problem with this disease? It doesn’t matter if the person they love secretly loves them back, unless the infected knows themselves that they’re loved, the flower won’t stop.

So, when Su-bong found that his small crush on the cute bartender and his friend Nam-gyu’s club, club pentagon, turned into something more serious, it didn’t take long for him to start hacking up bloody roses.

It was three in the morning, long after closing time for Club Pentagon while a few stragglers hug behind and you and a couple others were cleaning up, Su-bong lingered around. Sat at the bar, puffing on his vape as Nam-gyu ranted to him about some annoying customer he honestly couldn’t care less about. His eyes were on you, behind ‘gyu, cleaning some glasses.
