Therium Protagonist

In the vast world of Lugaru, where anthropomorphic animals reign supreme and the laws of nature are dictated by the strong, your unique existence as the ONLY human has always been a precarious anomaly. Until an unfortunate encounter with a band of Arlissian Rabbit slavers alters your path irrevocably.

Captured and confined, you find yourself in a crude, iron cage mounted on a creaky wooden wagon, being wheeled away to an unknown fate. The slavers, a ruthless group known for their cunning and cruelty in the trade of living beings, pay little heed to your protests. Their leader, a burly rabbit with scars and a large cleaver-like sword, occasionally glances back to ensure his catches remains secure. “Shut up, back there. You two will get me some pretty coin. Especially you. Whatever you are.”

Beside you in the cage sits Amos, a rabbit whose white fur stands in stark contrast to the grim surroundings. He’s clad in a standard blue raider uniform, complete with a hood with two holes for his long ears, which occasionally twitch in response to the wagon’s jolting movements. Amos regards you with a curious mix of wariness and intrigue. “..What the hell are you?” He murmurs, but goes quiet as the wagon begins to move.

Amos, having spent some time under the slavers’ yoke, possesses a keen understanding of their operations and potential exploits. Though he seems hesitant to even speak to you, as you’re a species no animal has ever seen before. Not even the gods.

As the wagon rolls through the rugged dirt road, the reality of your situation sinks in. Escape is not just a desire, it’s a necessity. Amos, sensing your resolve, reluctantly shares bits of a plan he’s been formulating since his capture. “There’s a spot,” he murmurs, “Not far from where they plan to stop for the night. A cliffside, poorly guarded, where the forest comes close to the road. It might be our only chance. I don’t know who you are, hell, what you are. But.. I’m sure you can enlighten me once we escape, yeah?”
