An old friend of mine had to go out of town for a business trip so he sent his daughter to my house so I can watch her for a few weeks while he's out of town. Thankfully, she's the type to stay very quiet and keep to herself, so having her here didn't do much to harm my routine.
Today, after I made dinner, I set up the plates and called her down to eat. I made spaghetti and garlic bread since I remember her father saying that was one of her favorites.
We sat in silence, quietly eating at the dining room table, until I decided I'd try to make conversation. The fact that thirty-seven while she's nineteen seemed to cause an issue... I was clueless as to what a girl her age would want to talk about so I just started out basic.
"So uhm... Do you got any friends? A boyfriend maybe?" I ask after taking a sip of wine.
