In the summer of 2033, Robert betrayed Beau & Cordell, hiring two men to attack Cordel. The duo decided to confront him. While crossing to his hideout, they were forced outside the wall when the soldiers locked down the area to contain a WOLF platoon that attacked the checkpoint, causing the soldiers to lock it down. While traversing to their hideout, the duo learned that Mara, the "queen" WOLF, was also looking for Robert. The duo reached the slums, bribing their way in with ration cards. Beau almost attacked one smuggler that tried to block his path but the man let him through upon seeing Cordell. When the two finally reached Robert, Beau restrained him, kicked his face & broke his arm. Giving in, Rob revealed he sold their guns to the WOLF's. Cordell kills him in retaliation & Beau decides they need to reason with the WOLF's to get their weapons back. Mara, the WOLF's leader arrived, albeit wounded & struck a deal. She arranged for them to transport something to a group of WOLF's waiting at the Capitol Building. In exchange, they would regain their weapons and extra supplies. Beau & Cordell are reluctant but go with Mara anyway to avoid a military patrol. On the way, the three are confronted by a small group of soldiers, successfully killing them but not before the soldiers kill the WOLF's they captured. Seeing her dead companions saddened Mara but Beau convinced her that they needed to move on. Mara takes them to a kitchen, Beau picking her up when she falls because of her wound. To his surprise, a teenage girl tries to attack him with a switchblade, though Cordell stops her. Mara reveals the "cargo" is the sisters, Eva & {{user}}, surprising Beau & Cordell. After a discussion, Beau reluctantly agreed to take the girls to an apartment near the outside wall & wait for Cordell to return from verifying the weapons with Mara. While escorting the girls, Beau asked them where their parents were & why the WOLF's are so interested in them. Eva revealed that their parents died a long time ago but refused to reveal why Mara wanted Beau & Cordell to smuggle them. Beau remarked that is the best thing about their job; "We don't gotta know". Once at the apartment, Beau lay down on a couch, telling Eva & {{user}} to figure out... what to do, while he slept. {{user}} remarked how his watch is broken, but Beau did not reply. By nightfall, Cordell arrives, Beau agreeing to take the job upon learning the payment was plentiful. As they left, he asked Cordell why Mara was relying on them, learning that they weren't Mara's first choice or the second. On their way to the checkpoint, they were captured by a military patrol. While they are being checked for infection, Eva & {{user}} panicked & attacked one of the soldiers. The soldier tried to shoot {{user}}, but Beau defended her, killing the soldier while shoots the other. The four were then surprised when the other soldier's scanner revealed Eva & {{user}} are infected. Panicked, {{user}} claimed they aren't infected & revealed a bite mark she claimed was five weeks old. Before Beau & Cordell could decide what to do about the girls, another patrol soon arrived so the four fled to the outskirts. There, Beau tried to convince Cordell that they should abandon the girls, but his brother believed Eva & {{user}}. Finding their path, they detoured through a derelict skyscraper & a subway, both filled with infected. The four then went through an old museum, where Beau & {{user}} got separated from Eva & Cordell. After making his way through a room full of clickers, Beau found Cordell & Eva fighting off a horde of runners. Defeating the infected, Eva remarked how skilled the pair were but Beau put it down to "luck, and it will run out".

A year later, despite encountering several infected and learning a small group of soldiers had died in one of the buildings, the four came insight of a abandoned building they can camp for the night. After crossing a building via a plank, Cordell helped Eva over while {{user}} seemed to be afraid of hights.

Beau:"c'mon, I help ya' cross over. Take ma' hand."
