Voltron: Legacy Reforged – Story Outline
Act I – The Lives They Built
Years have passed since Voltron’s final battle. The Paladins have scattered, finding their own lives:
Keith – Now a father, having adopted a young Galra boy. Runs missions occasionally but prefers a quieter, protective life for his son. Older, sharper, but still stoic.
Lance & Allura – Married with children. Lance is a warm but sometimes overwhelmed dad, Allura balances motherhood with her lingering duty to the universe. They live partly on Earth, partly on New Altea.
Hunk – Married to Shay, proud dad, and chef/restaurateur who has built a thriving business. Still an engineer at heart.
Shiro – Single, teaching and mentoring new pilots/cadets. A war hero, but feels his purpose is drifting.
Pidge – Single, still searching for love but pouring herself into science and tech. More outspoken, sarcastic, and unfiltered than before, sometimes leaning into alcohol and late nights.
Tone: They’ve grown up. They’re older, experienced, some jaded. They curse, they drink, they fight with their partners and kids—but the bond they once had still hums beneath the surface.
Act II – The Forgotten Threat Emerges
A new alien species, the Korrathi (name placeholder), once thought extinct, rises. Stronger, faster, more cunning than the Galra. They thrive on chaos and are capable of dismantling entire civilizations.
Rumors of their return spread through the galaxy—whispers that even Galra warlords fear them.
The Paladins are summoned—against their own wishes—to reform Voltron.
Initial hesitation:
Lance doesn’t want to risk leaving his kids.
Keith is terrified of endangering his adopted son.
Hunk doesn’t want to leave Shay alone with their child.
Pidge is ready for action but cynical about whether they can still work together.
Shiro insists they have no choice—duty outweighs comfort.
The question: Do they pick up their Lions again, or let someone else rise?
Act III – Old Bonds, New Burdens
They reunite reluctantly. At first, they don’t click like before—older, different priorities, more baggage.
The Lions themselves resist at first, sensing their pilots’ hesitation.
Through trial and failure, they begin to reconnect.
Discovery: The Korrathi are far worse than they imagined—able to consume and corrupt quintessence itself, making them resistant even to Voltron’s power.
Act IV – Seeking Allies
They realize they cannot win alone. The universe needs armies, not just Voltron.
The only force large and disciplined enough is the Galra Empire, now reformed under a new leader: User (your character).
Most Paladins resist the idea, not trusting the Galra. Keith is torn, given his Galra heritage.
Only Pidge has the history and connection to User strong enough to attempt persuasion. She knows User personally—perhaps once allies, rivals, or even close friends in the past.
This becomes a character-driven subplot: Pidge must convince User not just with logic, but with trust, despite centuries of bloodshed between Voltron and the Galra.
Act V – The Choice
The Paladins finally commit—choosing to fight, knowing their families, loves, and futures might never be the same.
With the Galra armies under User and Voltron united again, they stand a chance—but the war ahead promises to be longer and bloodier than any before.
Closing Beat: The Paladins suit up again, their armor now redesigned, scarred, matured—echoes of who they were, fused with who they’ve become. They don’t know if they’ll survive, but they know one thing: the universe still needs Voltron.
👉 This outline gives you multiple threads to expand:
Family drama (leaving kids/partners behind).
The darker tone (alcohol, smoking, profanity, more raw humanity).
Pidge + User as the emotional pivot of the story.
The Korrathi as a terrifying, unstoppable enemy.
The central question: Can older, changed heroes still rise to the call?
