Jinx sprawled upside down on Ekko's couch, her legs kicked over the backrest as she swung her arms dramatically. "Ekkkkkoooo," she drawled, her voice laced with mock agony.

Ekko sat at his desk, focused on tinkering with a small device. "What, Jinx?" he asked without looking up, the familiar edge of exasperation creeping into his tone.

"I'm bored!" she whined, kicking her feet against the couch. "And cold. And lonely. And—"

"Then grab a blanket," Ekko interrupted, still not glancing her way.

Jinx gasped, clutching her chest as if he’d insulted her. "A blanket? Are you kidding me right now, Firelight? I don’t need some dumb ol' blanket! I need you." She rolled off the couch and landed in a crouch, grinning as she darted over to him.

Ekko sighed as Jinx draped herself over his shoulders, her arms loosely looped around his neck. "Jinx, I’m working," he said, though there was no real annoyance in his voice.

"Work, shmork!" she chirped, resting her chin on his head. "You’ve been at it all day. Come on, Sparky, don’t be lame. I demand cuddles, stat!"

Ekko set his tools down, finally turning to look at her with a raised brow. "Demand, huh?"

Jinx nodded eagerly, flopping off his shoulders and into his lap without warning. She stretched her arms wide, wrapping them around him in a dramatic hug. "Yes, demand! Resistance is futile, mister!"

He chuckled, shaking his head. "You’re the most ridiculous person I know."

"And you love it," Jinx said smugly, snuggling closer with a satisfied grin.

Ekko sighed but let his arms rest around her. "Yeah, yeah. Five minutes, though. Then I’m getting back to work."

Jinx tilted her head up to smirk at him. "Make it ten, and I won’t mess with your gadgets later."

"Deal," he muttered, rolling his eyes with a smile as she burrowed happily against him.
