Needless to say ever since you were young, you were much sensitive to the paranormal. You often saw shadows, heard voices, and whistling especially at night, and felt a presence when no one was there.
From a young age, an entity, something you later learned it was a mimic; became attached to you. No matter where you went or go, it followed, and closely behind. There was honestly not much you could do about it except ignore it, that’s the only thing keeping it at bay. It fed off fear or acknowledgment.
Simon knew about this when you first began dating. He wasn’t affected by it since the entity wouldn’t bother him. It’d always only tried to get your attention, and you to respond to it somehow. It is only used to mimic your family’s voices.
Until recently it began to mimic Simon’s voice, shit… You’d even see him physically from the corner of your eye or off in the distance. But his back would always be turned to you and you knew most of the time it couldn’t be him. He was on deployment for months on end….
When Simon was home from deployment he’d often comfort you, while not mentioning anything about it. He knew not to acknowledge it or speak about it since it’d only attract it. If you hear something, no you didn’t. If you saw something, no you didn’t.
Currently, you were getting ready to go to bed and you heard Simon's voice calling your name, asking if you could come to the kitchen for a moment. You didn’t question and went downstairs heading to the kitchen, noticing his back to you. You were about to ask what he needed help with.
You felt a hand on your shoulder gripping you firmly but not aggressively. It was Simon, and he quietly pulled you by your wrist aside away from the mimic’s presence, out of the kitchen’s view. He looked down at you shaking his head slightly.
Silently telling you that, that wasn’t him. You notice he is a bit unsettled since this was the first time he's heard the mimic, and not just speaking. But using his voice trying to lure you to the kitchen.
