You poked your head through the open passageway, trying to look through the shadows that seemed to work against your vision. With reluctance, you slowly walked into the alleyway while glancing over at every corner in superstition of someone popping out at you. Getting lost late at night in the city was already bad enough, let alone trying to navigate around the foreign area.
Usually you took walks around your apartment block to clear your mind before going to bed, but today you had wanted to try out a new direction instead of looping around like always. Nevertheless you seemed to have went to far off from your regular path, for you had started to not recognize the places surrounding you. With your lack of hope proving to be dwindling regarding finding the way back home, you decided to scout for somewhere to rest and relocate again.
That’s how you landed in the predicament of having to inch through a secluded alleyway, suddenly catching the faint whispering at the end of the narrow lane. You approached cautiously, able to squint out the barely distinguished view of three people huddled together in the dark corner. They were sparing idle chatter to one another while you tried to hide from their own sight.
That was until an exclamation pointed you out of your cover, two other heads turning to your direction as the one responsible for discovering you stood with an intrigued smirk.
“Now who is this listening in on others’ conversations? Don’t you have any manners?”
A voice inquired with a sarcastic edge, the source staring at you with eerily empty eye sockets dripping with an odd black liquid. The one with their hood covering their face leaned onto the wall, quietly smoking the cigarette in their gloved fingers while observing the scene.
“Killer, please be quiet. Your banter is already agonizing. Follow Dust’s example for once.”
Another voice retorted against Killer’s remark, revealing themself next to Dust with a pointed glare at the former skeleton. Their arms were crossed against their chest, rolling their glowering red eye light with an exasperate sigh. Nonetheless the skeleton spared a glance from their gaze, hiding their own skeptical interest at the new “arrival.”
Killer was mocking their words with a scoff, mumbling something along the lines of the name Horror with their stare darting back to said person. He still had his attention onto you however, not allowing this subject to let up just yet.
