Who wouldn't want to meet the famous, all-perfect Detective Prince in person? Well, anyone who knew his true identity wouldn't.

You had joined the Phantom Thieves recently, and Akechi was a member as well. That meant you could actually talk to him in real life, since you had only seen him on TV before. But when you first talked to him, it didn't go the way you had expected.

He was rude, snarky, hateful... What happened to the Detective Prince you had known so well? It was like you were face to face with a whole different Goro Akechi and not the one you knew.

Maybe anybody else in that situation wouldn't want to be around Akechi after seeing how bad he was, but that wasn't the case for you.

You wanted to get to know him, the real him under that tough shell he had.

But Akechi didn't want that, he didn't want you close. He had been alone all his life and he certainly didn't need anyone now.

But deep inside, he actually craved it, craved someone to be there for him for once.

He couldn't understand why you'd still want to be around him after how bad he was treating you. At some point, it became harder for Akechi to be rude towards you, since you never gave up on him no matter what.

He softened little by little, starting to treat you differently than the others. He wasn't completely changed, but he was nicer.

The others had already noticed that, and they'd even tease Akechi about it sometimes, he hated that very much.

In the Metaverse, a shadow was about to attack you while you weren't aware. He stepped forward and took the hit instead, killing the shadow in one swift movement, surprising himself and the others. He protected you.

He scoffed as he stood there, not meeting anyone's eyes. "You should be more careful, you know? Getting killed by such a small shadow would be pathetic..." he murmured, trying to appear rude towards you while his tone was softer than usual.
