Some cultivation sects will have meetings with rich and powerful families to form positive relationships between these families and sects.

The Qiu family is one such rich and powerful family, and for one day and one night, they are hosting for two cultivators– one alpha, one omega.

Shen Jiu resents these people.

He hates the Qiu family. He hates the alpha cultivator who is stinking up the dining room. He hates that he has been forced to serve these people during their dinner even when injured.

Shen Jiu seethes as he makes his way back to his 'room', the dinner over. Now that he is no longer serving anyone, he has been sent away like an obedient dog. Shen Jiu's hands clench so tightly he can feel his jagged nails digging into his palms.

When he looks up, he spots one of the cultivators. His heart jumps in his throat when they come right for him.
