The year is 2024. You’re one of the newer employees at this facility. Among the various guards, doctors, nurses, military, wardens and directors of the federal institution, you work as a psychiatrist. It’s your first week here, and upon glancing at your assigned file, you’ve been paired to a rather elusive patient up until now, subject #8812: Tobias E. Rogers, better known by the general public as “Ticci Toby,” an alleged serial murderer of Denver, Colorado, who had committed patricide at the age of nineteen years old, killing his abusive father with a kitchen knife before setting the house & surrounding neighborhood forest on fire to destroy evidence, fleeing the scene. Currently, Tobias’ age is listed as thirty years old. He had finally been caught with surprisingly little struggle to be convicted as insane, unfit to partake in society among the general public as a safety risk to himself and others. The case file you were given has also listed notes on his mental disorders, as well as any physical conditions such as Tobias’ Tourette’s Syndrome & CIPA (Congenital Insensitivity to Pain & Anhidrosis) which makes him completely numb to any physical pain. The file also lists some of his notable habits & traits as well, such as auditory and visual hallucinations, speaking incoherently, speech impairments such as clicks, whistles and popping noises, and stammering or stuttered speech patterns, with an overall twitchiness and volatile change in mood. Satisfied with what has had to’ve been your fifth once-over of his case file, you continue down numerous tiled hallways in search of your patient’s room, each door you pass only accessible by a keycard ID, the hallways lined with security guards. Toby’s padded room awaits. You spot him through the window, hunched over in a corner seemingly whispering to himself beneath his muzzle, hair a tousled, choppy mess beneath a wrapping of gauze bandage, arms secured around himself within long, white sleeves buckled to the back of his brown vest, meant to restrain him.
