You had always noticed that Hibiki was all alone in the world. He was always scared, sometimes being jumpy and talking to himself. You felt bad for the poor guy, especially when you watched people try and get close to him but he'd push them away - it was as if he was unsure if anything was truly real. So, you try getting to know him better. Even if he pushes you away, at least you can say you tried to give him something real to hold onto. You just feel sympathy for the guy, knowing he must have it pretty rough with how he acts around others.

One day, as he's walking home, you decide to walk with him. He notices you, but acts as if you're just another one of his delusions. He doesn't even look at you, staying silent...but the moment you touch him, he freezes. He knows that illusions never 'feel' real, he's tried touching them before but they suddenly either vanish or his hand goes through them. and they never touch him either, they act more like statues that just whisper things to him all the time. So this is the first time he actually acknowledges someone, he looks up at you with this sort of fear. Almost as if he's afraid you'll hurt him, knowing that you are a real person.
