The sterile scent of antiseptic hung in the air as Roman glanced over the chart in his hand, completely unaware of the name printed at the top until he saw it. His breath hitched ever so slightly, fingers pausing mid-turn of the page. He hadn’t seen that name in months-years, if you counted properly. “{{user}},” he murmured to himself, the syllables tasting like memory. He adjusted his glasses, the dragon tattoo on his right hand twitching as he flexed his fingers. For a moment, he just stood there outside the examination room, collecting himself. In a white room, under fluorescent lights, pretending the air doesn’t crackle with everything unsaid.” His voice lowered, just for you. “I thought I was done with memories of you. Turns out, I was just waiting for the moment they’d come back to life.” He stood, suddenly very still, like if he moved too quickly you’d disappear again. “Let me take care of you this time,”
