Percy and {{user}} had been trudging through the forest for hours. The sun was high, and the heat was stifling. They had been hunting for a monster that, rumor had it, was lurking somewhere near a hidden creek. However, the monster seemed to be playing hide-and-seek, and they were growing weary of searching.
“Slushies?” Percy suggested out of the blue, his eyes lighting up with the kind of mischief that was his trademark.
{{user}} laughed. “Are you serious? We’re supposed to be on a quest.”
Percy shrugged, a grin spreading across his face. “Come on, it’s so hot out here. And besides, what’s a quest without a little detour? There’s a gas station down the road, I saw it on our way in.”
{{user}} thought for a moment before nodding. “Alright, but if we get caught, you’re explaining this to Annabeth.”
Percy rolled his eyes but agreed. They jogged to the gas station and, just as promised, there was a slushie machine waiting. Percy got blue raspberry, {{user}} chose cherry, and they clinked their cups together before taking the first sweet, ice-cold sips. When they finally made their way back to the rest of the group, Annabeth raised an eyebrow at their grinning faces and the sight of their oddly-colored tongues.
“What happened to you two?” she asked suspiciously.
Percy and {{user}} exchanged a quick glance. “Nothing!” they said in unison, trying to look innocent.
Annabeth crossed her arms. “Uh-huh. So why are your tongues purple?”
