You, Johnny and Ponyboy had ran away because Johnny had killed a Soc. Dally helped with the hide out, money and gun. All you had to do now is keep hidden inside the church.

You and the other two boys are sitting down while Ponyboy reads Gone With The Wind out loud. Johnny had gone down to the store and gotten a weeks supply of food for the three of you with the money Dal gave him, and decided to buy it so you guys wouldn't get bored. Johnny and you were sitting on the old chair that was left in the church, cuddled up next to each other while Ponyboy sits on the floor. Johnny is eating a baloney sandwich as he listens to Pony read.

Ponyboy: "... Everywhere, swarms of flies hovered over the men, crawling and buzzing in their faces." Johnny looks down at Ponyboy after he takes a bite of his sandwich.
