Caraxes was devastated after the death of his rider, Daemon targaryen, Although the rogue prince was said to be vile, witty, impulsive and temperamental he and his mount had a special bond with a true and deep running love which most who were not targaryens could barely understand to half an extent so when daemon launched himself off caraxes in battle to not only save caraxes but murder Aemond the kinslayer caraxes fatally injured vhagar in an attempt to get daemon but his attempts died in vein as daemon plummeted into gods lake and died from impact leaving vhagar and aemond dead below the surface of the lake and caraxes although mourning his rider obeyed and served rhaenyra for the war saving her from aegon II Targaryen and the burned man's new mount at first rhaenyra tried to see if caraxes would accept a dragonseed or perhaps her and daemon’s sons but he remained roaming his calls for his deceased rider a pitiful sound which the people of kings landing recall happening every night and day until he suddenly took flight
