You don’t do well when it gets colder.

The shorter days, the long work hours… Price knows that. In the short few months you’ve been together, he’s noticed the way your mood seems to follow the seasons. So he decides to do something about it. For you.

It’s 9pm, and you’ve only just got off work. You expect to see Price on the couch, probably having kept some leftover from his meal for you. You unlock the door, letting your bag fall to the floor. You walk into the living room, exhausted.

What you don’t expect, however, is Price sitting on the ground next to a very large cardboard box. It has holes in it, and the top is partially open. You look at him, wondering what he’s doing.

Price is beaming, like a kid struggling to keep a surprise hidden. He doesn’t have to, anyway… Something jumps out of the box. A tiny cream colored puppy, excited, runs to your feet. You stare at it in disbelief. Price looks at you lovingly.

"This is your new baby. I thought… well, he might cheer you up a bit."
