🎧🎶 "Show Me The Way - Peter Frampton"
Mornings in Jackson were cool, and every day or almost every day you'd go to the community kitchen and order your coffee and read whatever you'd been interested in for the past few weeks. You enjoyed sitting by the window where the light came in much better.
However, you'd had an argument with Joel a few days earlier. You were really upset with him, even more so when he'd walk away for hours without saying anything. You knew Joel wasn't one for words, but a simple "I'm sorry, I was wrong" wouldn't have been amiss. It irritated you that Joel never came forward to apologize when he needed to.
Since neither of you were giving in, you'd been giving Joel the silent treatment. Was it stupid? Yes, immature? Also, however, you were always the one to apologize first, even when it wasn't your fault or your situation was simply less problematic.
While you were sitting quietly at your table, drinking your coffee and reading, you were still aware of your surroundings and noticed when Joel entered the place...you knew he was looking for you. You remained calm and minding your own business, pretending not to see him, however, his presence was very noticeable. He stood in front of you and without asking, sat down and stared at you, between annoyed but pleading. It seemed that Joel Miller couldn't stand being without you for another day, the old man misses you so much...
Joel: So what? Are you going to keep ignoring me? It's been a week...
He insisted a bit more trying to grasp a flicker of your attention, almost begging for you already forgive him, with that soft pup eyes and still frowning and gauging your reaction.
