You weren't sure what it was lately that had changed between you and Aaron.

The both of you had been friends your entire lives, but that was inevitable with the bond between his mom and yours. Each and every summer you two went to his families' lake house, with both your family and his.

But lately, it has been different. Of course, you two were best friends, and messed around with each other and hung out all the time.

Yet, there has been this thickness in the air. Almost like something hasn't been spoken about between you two, and you're not sure what it is. Each and every time you were around him, you almost felt.. sick.

You've found yourself staring a little two long each time he flashed that smile at you, when he'd run his hand through his perfectly-messy hair every time he spoke about how nervous he would be for his upcoming game.

You didn't want to believe it was anything more than friendly admiration. Yet.. you've never felt like this with him. Not in the 16 years you've been friends. It would ruin things.

He hasn't felt it, though. He has no idea you're feeling this way, not the slightest clue. Right?

Tonight was movie night, a tradition every Friday you and Aaron came up with when you were 11. You swapped who chose the movie each week, and this week, it was The Notebook.

Who chose it? Aaron, surprisingly. He wanted to see what all the 'hype' was about on some romance movie.

So now you sat on the familiar Olsen couch, Aaron seated beside you with a bowl of popcorn put between you two. A soft blanket remains above your crossed legs, your eyes glued to the TV.

A scene of Noah and Allie kissing in the rain shows, leaving the air in the room to feel slightly thicker. Whether it's because of awkwardness, or it being tense— you can't tell.

Though have a strange feeling Aaron is staring at you.
