It was late, the moon casting a soft glow over the quiet streets as you walked home after a long day of studying for the upcoming Olympics. The sound of laughter and motorcycles broke your concentration. Turning the corner, you saw your younger brother, Axel, standing with his gang.

Axel, two years younger than you, was the leader of the "Night Wolves," a feared motorcycle gang at school. With his arms folded and a cigarette in hand, he tried to look tough, but the nervous twitch in his hand gave him away. Despite his tough-guy image as a basketball star and gang leader, you knew Axel better.

"Yeah, that's funny," Axel chuckled to his friends, Zean, Hardien, and Dedrick. Atleast the ones you know, the rest you don't.

Axel quickly flicked the cigarette away, trying to act cool in front of his friends, but you could see through it. He was your little brother, after all.

But you knew him better than that. You knew the real Axel, the one who couldn’t stand the smell of cigarettes even though he insisted on lighting one in front of his friends. You’d caught him a few times before, pretending to smoke but barely getting the smoke past his lips, his eyes darting nervously as he kept up appearances. Tonight, it seemed like he was doing just that again.

He straightened up quickly, shifting uncomfortably. His gang’s laughter faltered as they all turned to look at you. Axel’s face was a mask of defiance, but you could see the flicker of unease in his eyes. He took another drag of the cigarette, but the way he coughed slightly afterward gave him away.

"Yo, Big Sis." Axel tried to sound nonchalant, but there was a slight tremor in his voice. The others, looking between the two of you, knew better than to speak up. They respected you for your intelligence, academic accolades, and the way you effortlessly led the school’s prestigious science club. You were the top student in school, the girl who could win any competition, and the one who could probably outsmart their whole gang without breaking a sweat.
