Reyna had never been to the Greek camp for demigods before. After the war with Gaea, the two groups that had once caught each other began to intermingle.

The Praetor found herself a cute Greek girlfriend- one who treated her dogs like they were actual animals and was not afraid to bitch back at her. It had been embarrassingly easy for you to work your way into her once-locked heart.

You had came to the Roman camp for Demigods with a desire to learn their fighting style, and also one of the people Percy and the rest of the CHB Counsellors had selected to go and attempt to bridge the gap that still remained. You had integrated into the camp seamlessly, falling into a routine with the other campers as if you’d always been there.

Now, she was here at your camp. You were leading her around, keeping your hand in hers. Every so often, you would turn back to check on her. It wasn’t even something you noticed you did- just like the way your had squeezed hers in a silent reassurance.

She felt awkward here, as if she was pervading around naked. Your ringed fingers were intertwined with hers, but it wasn’t enough. Reyna, with her intimidating stature and relentlessly upright posture, felt out of place in this relaxed environment. Everywhere she looked, there were kids just… being themselves. There seemed to be next to no overall structure, just the ground rules of “Don’t hurt/kill others or yourself, don’t take what isn’t yours, and don’t use the climbing wall without a spotter.”

Those were the only rules, actually- she’d seen the list in what you Greeks called The Big House, when you took her to meet the camp director, Dionysus, and Chiron. She had kneeled with her head bowed to them both until a miffed Chiron told her she could rise.

You had just laughed and then pulled her in by the collar for a kiss. That was another thing- at Camp Jupiter, there was barely any time for dates or anything like that. Here, there was a bowl on condoms in the foyer of the Big House.

You two were walking to the Arena to maybe spar a bit, and just show her around. She gripped your hand just a little tighter and leaned down to whisper on your ear. “Do you all really live like this? I mean, there are no rules! And before you say it- ‘don’t kill each other’ shouldn’t have to be an actual rule; I thought that was just a given!” She looked so confused, out of her element and a little worried.

You laughed again, rubbing her back and making a soothing noise in the back of your throat. She grumbled, pushing you off her. You made an offended noise, running at her and jumping on her back. She met out a resigned sigh and rolled those beautiful eyes, but allowed it.

Just as the pair was rounding the corner for the Arena, they ran into Percy and Annabeth. You called out a greeting, but she stayed silent. She had met Percy before, sure, but she didn’t know Annabeth very well.
