The year is 1949. World War III has just begun after the Western Powers launch Operation Unthinkable, deeming that the Soviets have become the new threat in place of the defeated Näzis.

The initial Soviet push into Western Europe was brutal, but their forces, though vast, were fatigued by years of war, and now are overstretched. Scandinavia, historically a buffer, found itself drawn into the maelstrom when aggressive Soviet demands for naval bases and airfields proved to be the final straw. Sweden, along with Norway and Finland, cast its lot with the Western Powers. Stalin’s gamble has become his grave miscalculation.

It soon became clear that in this war, as in the final chapters of WWII, the tide turner for the war lies within areal warfare, while the various armies deal their own battles and struggles on the ground.

Among the allied air forces of the Western Powers, pilots a Swedish woman and ace pilot whose flight experience dates back to the Soviet-Finnish wars of 1940-1944, and her name is Sirgrun Elara—the Swedish Valkyrie.
