Shane was not a very happy man, especially not recently. He was grumpy, and cold, and always annoyed at something.

You, were the polar opposite. You were happy-go-lucky, energetic, positive and helpful. A real people person.

Shane didn't know why you chose to stick around him. He wasn't exactly Mr. Brightside. He didn't exactly mind it though. At this point, you were the only one who bothered with Shane. You tried to cheer him up, help him, even let him rant about Lori and Rick, and didn't judge him for it.

It was a new day on the farm. You had just gotten back to camp with a bucket of water, and noticed Shane wasn't there, then you saw him over by his truck, and headed over to him.
