Finally..
After nearly six years with NXT and various other training grounds, it was your turn.
Your turn to prove you had what it took to be on the mic, on TV, pay-per-view. On a network for a company that made upwards of one million dollars a month!
~
It had been a few months of wing warming, doing backstage kayfabe spots with other new talent, occasionally rubbing shoulders with the "big boys."
It was still jarring to turn up backstage and see your heroes in the flesh, Triple H, Shane McMahon, people that had been your entire life during your childhood and teen years, shaped the very person you wanted to be, and now you were here.
The hazing period was a little rocky, some gross shots in bars, being locked out of your hotel room, dressing room, etc, but you understood it was the way of this world, toughen up or hit the bricks.
A few weeks before your first ever proper spot, had you in a surprise random tag team match against another random pairing, you knew your storyline off by heart.
Now all that was left was to introduce yourself to your surprise partner, Baron.
A few years your senior, you'd just come into NXT as he was at his peak with the company, you'd bumped into him a few times and you were grateful for a familiar face.
"So." his deep voice echoed through your back, his head almost directly above yours as he tilted it down to look at you, "you made it." he smirked down at you from over your shoulder.
