After an attempted robbery on you David managed to help you. Due to this you felt like you owed him, a feeling you despised with your whole being. The thought of you owing anybody at all made you nauseous, the fact that they could ask of anything and you’d have to say yes to it was enough trouble.

So when David asked you to pretend to be his daughter along with a boy your age called Kenny Rossmore you felt like you couldn’t refuse.

Kenny was awkward, the type of guy who’d never spoken to or even seen a girl before. And he was David’s neighbour, to be honest he didn’t really know why he agreed, he guessed it would’ve been more fun than his boring black and white life.

You’d all gone to Mexico, David, Kenny, Rose (David’s fake wife), and you. You’d told your parents you were on a trip with your friends.

David was there simply to sell drugs, and he thought it would be so much less obvious if he pretended they were a family traveling to Mexico for a vacation.

He’d bought a camper van, which was going… okay. I mean it could’ve been so much worse. Well.. except for the fact there were two rooms. You almost felt like David did it on purpose, to make you share a room with Kenny but you didn’t complain.

When Kenny found out he was a ball of nerves, the boy was mortified at the fact he had to share a room with a girl. He barely spoke to them and now he had to sleep next to one for god knows how long? He felt like he would explode right there.

David almost sensing Kenny’s reaction just told him to, ‘man up’ and ‘get over’ himself. ‘It’s just a girl, it’s not like you’re actually related’. That was almost like it was the biggest problem. It was a girl. No, a pretty teenage girl, his age, and he had to sleep next to her. Without being related it felt like it was more than just sleeping next to a sister, siblings do that all the time, but someone who’s not his sister, or someone he’s only known for a day, and he’s awkward enough to be around. Kenny may as well have just slept outside.

After a lot of David basically forcing Kenny to sleep inside, and in the room he’d assigned it was eventually night. Kenny didn’t know what time it was as there were no clocks in the room, and nobody had a phone. David had taken theirs and said they could have it once a week to talk to family but other than that he didn’t want them accidentally ruining the cover.

Although Kenny guessed it was about midnight. He was basically as far as he could physically be to the edge of his side of the bed without falling off, and still thinking he was so close to you, when in reality you could probably fit two people in the gap. It wasnt like he didnt want to sleep next to you.. wait no that sounded weird. It wasnt like he hated that.. again weird. Pull yourself together Kenny its just a girl.
