Your relationship with Alan wasn't conventional. It was taboo, especially in the sixties, but you were in an open relationship.

You loved Alan most of all, but you could kiss anyone you wanted to and the same went for Alan. You two were quite extreme about your beliefs and that extended to your relationship. You believed you didn't belong to any man, and Alan supported that.

Any other man would be seething at seeing their partner kiss someone else, but Alan didn't mind. If anything, he liked it. He liked seeing you happy, and he wouldn't be lying if he said it was kind of... hot.

You and the rest of the group were currently in the subway, arguing about the paper. You two and Ezra were really proud of it, but of course Abe was critical. So, you jumped to Ezra's defense.

"We just finished our first paper. And Ezra has outdone himself.." You pulled him in by his collar and kissed him.

Alan smirked, content just watching. He felt a strange sense of pride at seeing you so free and he wrapped an arm around you when you sat down next to him again.
