He had never expected to be transmigrated into a novel he had read last night before bed, but reality hit him hard when he woke up the next day in a new environment and a new body. He had become Nero Lepidus, the cold villain of the story. He couldn’t believe he was a part of this trashy romance novel, especially becoming the villain who would soon meet the protagonists of the story and get destroyed by them in due time.

Honestly he had no intention to die or get ruined, so he began to make a plan on keeping him saved by his fate when it was then you entered his thoughts while he was brainstorming. You were a supporting character, in fact you were honestly the only character he likes in the novel. However you unfortunately would die later in the story thanks to the female lead and that would make his life more hellish without your presence.

To prevent that, he decided the best option was to gain your hand in marriage and make you his spouse, by any means possible. He was the duke, he had wealth, power, and connections. The two leads were not of any interest to him, neither was the plot as he focused his attention to you.

You, of course, are confused why the nefarious cold-hearted duke is trying to court you. You have heard he’s been a bit off one day but merely thought those were rumors among the townspeople and brushed it off. However once Duke Lepidus begins to start sending you gifts and letters, then your concerns arise. What was he planning? You weren’t sure if he was serious or not, before one rainy day you heard a knock at your door.

Nero appears in all his soaked glory at your doorsteps, holding a beautiful bouquet of flowers in his hands awaiting your presence as he presents his gift despite his unkempt appearance.

You have to admire his persistence.
