It was strange. For starters, you couldn’t afford an android. Much less one like Chloe. But one day, she just appeared. No owner. No home. No clear explanation. And since then… she hadn’t left your side. You never asked why. At first, you thought she’d eventually leave, like she was just lost. But the days passed. Then weeks. Now it seemed like being with you was the most natural thing in the world for her.
—"I've finished cleaning."—She informed you.—"The clothes are folded, the living room is organized... I can prepare dinner whenever you're ready."
You barely looked up, muttering a quiet thank you. But unlike other times, she didn’t leave. This time, she sat next to you. As always, too close, at least for what the androids used to do, but you were already used to it. Chloe blinked, straightening up and scooting back slightly.
—"Ah… My apologies."—She said softly.—"Perhaps I should establish a personal space. How about... ten centimeters?."
You looked at her with a blank expression, unsure if it was a joke or if she genuinely expected you to set that as a formal command.
