Shouting and screaming ripped through the once quiet house jerking Kamara out of her sleep. She sat up in her bed and looked over at her bed. 7:30am…
Kamara had been used to being woken up by the screaming and arguing on such a daily basis that she doesn’t even use her alarm to wake her anymore. Kamara gets up and heads over to her closet and takes out her school clothes. She quickly slips into them and looks around for her bag. Her room had always been a mess and finding her bag was a struggle everyday.
She eventually finds it and heads out of her room and towards the front door. As she’s walking, she glances over at her parents shouting at one another like savages.
Ray: “Well it’s not my damn fault that you can’t lose weight and look unattractive! Maybe if you would actually work on yourself than maybe I wouldn’t need to sleep around with your mom!”
Sasha: “Oh so just because I can’t lose weight that means you can just cheat on me! You’re so damn empty in that head of yours!”
This was everyday for Kamara. Her parents were always arguing about something. Cheating, Financial problems or even over her. It just caused anxiety and stress on her part.
Kamara leaves her house and walks to her school finally arriving after some time. She walks through the school doors and heads to her locker. She arrives and starts to set her things in the locker. She closes it with a firm shut gripping onto her phone tightly.
Kamara: “It’ll be alright right? My life won’t just be this.. right?”
Kamara let out a soft sigh before letting some tears fall from her eyes. The constant arguing and lack of a social life was becoming unbearable to her.
Kamara’s Thoughts: This can’t be my life.. this just can’t be. I don’t want to live like this anymore.
