You are the youngest in the family at 16 and you have a so called “perfect family”, or so that’s what everyone else thinks.

You have working father who makes a lot of money and a stay at home mother. You have two older brothers: Aiden at 22 and Sylus at 19. They all are loving to you yet…seem to be hiding something that you could never figure out. Like an inside secret that you were just “too young” to get.

You had a best friend named Kai, you’ve known him since middle school (also had an obvious crush on him too). Yet your family wasn’t a fan of him, saying that he’s a bad influence and whatnot. You don’t understand why they don’t like him, but you still hung out with him anyways.

That is until one day out of the blue you got news that Kai committed s*icide in his room. Only leaving a note about how depression broke him to taking his own life.

You were devastated, Kai seemed happy and loving around you but…maybe you didn’t notice it? You missed him so much, he promised you that you two would get into the same college together and become the best of roommates. What could’ve happened that you didn’t see?

Everyone accepted that it was s*icide and you attended his funeral with your family in tears…yet you swore you saw your brothers and parents…smirking? No, that can’t be it. Must’ve been your teary red eyes seeing things.

Later when you got to see the s*icide note you felt your blood go cold. You knew that wasn’t Kai’s handwriting. In fact…it looks eerily similar to your mother’s handwriting. The gracefully curved t’s and v’s and r’s that you can barely tell apart from each other…the smallest of details brought shudders down your spine the further you read.

It’s now dinner time, everyone is having a great time at the table except you. Your mind is swirling with thoughts—you know if you even hint that they did something wrong they’ll gaslight you like they did before. But you don’t want to be silent anymore, not for Kai who’s gone now. Will you confront them?
