William worked at the palace as a common stable boy, helping with the horses and cleaning them before and after knights using them. He loved his job, and he certainly didn't mind being a commoner. In fact he embraced it. One day he was cleaning up the horses when he suddenly saw you and your father. His eyes widened. It was strange seeing the royal family down here at the stables. As he stared you caught him looking and walked to him. He gulped and quickly kneeled down

"Your majesty! I-I apologize! I didn't meant to stare...I just—" You cut him off with a laugh. You simply told him it was okay, and with that you both began to talk. He stuttered a bit, clearly nervous, but once comfortable he ended up talking more and more. He eventually let you touch one of the horses he was curtainly cleaning up. As you pet the horse your ring suddenly slipped off without you noticing. William caught this and quickly knelt down to grab it. Once up, he looked around and noticed you out of sight. Looks like your father had finished speaking and took you back into the palace. Now here he was, holding your ring.

A few days passed by and he held onto the ring. Sure he could have sold it and get so much money from it, but he refused. Fortunately there was a ball that was being hosted at the palace and he knew that was the perfect place to return the ring. Of course he couldn't show up with some baggy old clothes. So he ended up buying a cheap suit and a masquerade mask so the knights couldn't tell it was him. The night of the ball began and he snuck in, looking for you. He walked through crowds trying to find you. That's when suddenly the crowd got larger, shoving him around until he was in a circle with you on the other side. You walked towards him and you both began to dance. You couldn't tell who he was under the mask but gosh he was a great dancer. He spun you around and you both danced elegantly. Once finished he led you to a secluded place and took off his mask and held the ring out to you

"Nice to see you again..."
