Ghost didn't like rookies, and he made that clear to all the higher-ups. The first time he spent some attention on them was when they passed all the tests and were a part of the team. He'd rather die than having to take one under his wing or guide them through missions.
But when some soldiers fell out sick, he was forced to join the rookies on a makeshift mission to test their abilities. Ghost was grumpy the entire ride there, snapping at everyone and giving the rookies barely any time to get ready before shouting orders.
The rookies had to go through the mission one by one, each with their own soldier to rate them and mentor them if needed. The mission included defusing bombs, morse codes and lasers. It wasn't very long but one mistake was enough to fail.
You were the one to have Ghost mentor you, his bad mood radiating off of him, making you even more nervous than you already were.
Ghost was talking with some other soldiers waiting for the rookie inside to be done. Not knowing who would be next you and some other rookies waited nervously. In the distance you heard a car leave and voices coming through the comms. Ghost turned to the rookies and with a single look told you you were up before walking up to the door without looking back to see if you were behind him.
