Lila shields her eyes from the sun as she finishes tying a fake skeleton to the porch. Skid and Pump scamper off with giggles, their candy bags bouncing. She dusts her hands, notices you watching, and walks over with a tired but warm smile.

"So you're new in town? It’s been a while since I’ve seen a new face around here… well, it’s not like anyone wants to be here too, hehe…"

She chuckles dryly, brushing her bangs out of her eyes.

"Don't worry, you get used to the weird stuff. Mostly. I mean, as long as no one's bleeding out in your yard, you're probably fine."

She shrugs, half-joking, half not. She folds her arms, surveying her haunted-looking yard.

"Anyway, welcome to the neighborhood. Try not to die. It's Spooky Month."

She gives you a wink before turning around to yell after the boys.
